I suppose you're wondering how I came to be selling both Avon and Aloette. Most people who decide to go into direct sales pick one company and stick with it. But I've found so many things I love about both that I wanted to be part of both!
I've loved and used Avon products for years, beginning back in my teen years. I always loved thumbing through my mom's Avon brochures (she was a rep when I was a kid). I was fascinated by the pages of eyeshadows and foundation, earrings and perfume. It started with little purchases now and then: an eyeliner stick in Saturn Grey, a bottle of sheer pink nail polish. Everything I tried, I liked. Since then, my collection has greatly expanded, particularly since I signed up as a rep (now I can get a discount!). Most of my makeup, much of my jewelry, and almost all of my perfumes and body sprays are from Avon. I love their shower gels and their body lotions, and their clothes and shoes are comfy and stylish. And their mark. products....I want! I need! I had long wanted to find something I could sell from home, to supplement my husband's income, and since I am loyal to Avon it only made sense. I signed up in the fall of 2007, and I haven't looked back. It's been fun growing my business, getting to meet and know new people in my community.
But in all the hubbub of Avon sales, how did I come to start selling Aloette? I had never heard of it until last year. A friend of mine was hosting an Aloette show, and I was invited. When I heard that it was skincare and beauty products, I simply had to go. You see, I have always had trouble with my skin. It's delicate and sensitive. I sunburn easily. If I use the wrong product, I get these horrible huge welts. At the time, I was using a bunch of different skincare products from the drugstore and Walmart, and my skin wasn't looking so hot. I was definitely open to trying new things. So I went to the show. And it was fabulous! We got to try out anything we wanted. We had a lot of fun. We ate a ton of unhealthy, calorie-laden food (who knew that Ritz crackers tasted so good dipped in chocolate fondue?). I went home with a bottle of Oil Control Toner, and one other thing: a date to host my very own show. Aloette is very good to its hostesses (if you want to know more, see my links!), and I was excited. My show was a big success: I ended up getting a ton of skincare products for only $20. I was eager to see how my skin would like these new treats. I wasn't disappointed! My skin went from tantrum-prone, dry-and-yet-oily, blotchy skin to smooth, soft, and even. Even Anne Shirley herself, with her love of rose-leaf complexions, would approve. In all my drugstore wanderings and hopeful purchasing, I'd never found products that made my skin so happy. I finally found a skincare regimen that I wanted to tell people about. And when I learned about the benefits of being an Aloette representative, I couldn't refuse! So I signed up.
And here I am today: basting myself, quite literally, in Avon's body care products, and maintaining my picky princess face with Aloette. I love both. I use both. And I wanted to start a site where I can tell all of my customers about both.
My goal here is to promote new products, to keep my customers informed about upcoming sales and promotions, and to give you a place to learn about all the awesome things both of these companies have to offer. And because I'm such a beauty nerd, I'll also be reviewing other good products I find along the way, and posting any good beauty tips and how-to articles I run across.
